Where's the outrage?

According to CNN, Obama said "he doesn’t feel 'weighed down' by race or gender in his decision."

Could you imagine if a GOP president--or worse yet--a white male GOP president, had issued this statement?

Where is Patricia Ireland? Gloria Steinem? Kweisi Mfume and Al Sharpton? And the rest of the identity politics cabal that is usually demanding, weeks in advance of the nomination, that eventual pick come from his or her respective grievance association? And that, if a female or minority nominee is not selected, it is de facto proof of the President's lack of compassion.

I wonder if he's also not feeling "weighed down" by N. Korea's nuclear bomb test over the weekend, or their recent missile launch, or Netanyahu's rejection of his proposals, or Ahmadinejad's continued mockery of his "new diplomacy"? It's important to keep a positive outlook and not get weighed down in the minor details, you know.

I prefer a big picture guy in the Oval Office. All those pesky details turned Carter's inside to jelly.

In all seriousness, though, I have been amazed at the effectiveness of Cheney and Gingrich in refuting the W.H. spin job over their foreign policy.

They really are the A-squad when it comes to rhetoric and effective argumentation. Yet we somehow managed to lose both of them in terms of public perception.
