I doubt WWII could have been prosecuted under today's media. That speaks volumes about how the media is influencing the news (policy, specifically) rather than simply reporting it. Sad commentary indeed.
Let's see, firebombing Dresden, rounding up Japanese Americans, dropping atomic weapons on massive civilian centers, suspending habeus corpus, "nationalizing" economic production through price controls on consumer goods, a draft!, rationing of basic necessities, practiced blackouts for energy conservation, etc., etc., etc.
No, I think it's safe to say WWII could not have been prosecuted successfully in this media environment.
Forget about it, after the # of lives we lost during D-Day invasion the media would have been calling for an end to the war with immediate withdrawal, consequences be damned.
