Where is Our John Howard?
Don't get me wrong. I love the U.S.A. I could never imagine wanting to live anywhere else. But why is it the leaders here can't see things as clearly as he does. He isn't afraid to say the things his people are saying (or thinking). My first liking for him came after seeing this. He continues to exhibit (un)common sense this month by denying a visa to a known terrorist. I wish common sense was common in government (or even present).

John Howard definitely rules, he's one of the few leaders out there with a backbone. The irony of his taking criticism over comments that immigrants should integrate into Australian society is that this very point was highlighted as a strength of US vs. Europe by NYT and other MSM. Specifically, when many Muslim riots broke out in Paris, and there were train bombings in Madrid, and subway bombings in London, it was observed that no such activity had taken place by Muslim community in US. A main reason given for this by NYT was observation that American Muslims are for more integrated into US society than are European Muslims in Europe.
