Mitt gets abused
Tim Russert has been, for 49 minutes at this point, eviscerating Mitt Romney and painting him as spineless opportunist. He's also bullying Romney by continually interrupting his defenses with further accusations.
What's disappointing is that, to this point, Romney has not looked Presidential. He's allowed himself to get bullied, and has not responded forcefully to (old and known) lines of attack on his character. He needs to get in Russert's face and say, "this whole interview has been shakedown. Say hi to Hillary for me."

I didn't see the interview unfortunately, didn't realize it was today. However, the write-up in politico was generally favorable to Mitt. It says Tim tried to steamroll him basically, but mitt was cool under fire.

Oh, he was definitely cool under fire. Kind of like standing still as Tyson's throwing an uppercut, 'cause dodging might make you look "rattled."
I had DVR'd it so I watched it a second time. If you only watched the first 15 minutes, to the point where he effectively repeated his "Mormon" speech, he was fine. It was the last 45 minutes that hurt.
Luckily, most MSM outlets (and Drudge) are so focused on the Mormon issue that they're back-burnering the other issues. The Dems won't be so kind. Mitt has to get his anti-flip-flop answers up to speed.
Honestly, I'm just as convinced as ever that Mitt would make an excellent president (and probably the best of the lot).
As time goes on, I get less convinced that he'll be able to defeat the Dem nominee.
One has to hope that Obama indeed has some steam now so that at least Hillary doesn't have a cakewalk through the primaries. It would be nice to see the Dem nominee have to get a bit bloodied up during their nomination process.
