When?
When will McCain start running ads hitting Obama and the Dems for their responsibility for the current economic meltdown? I'd like ads highlighting the attempts Republicans made to increase regulation of FNMA/FMAC (including tighter lending standards), but were rebuffed by Dems. The same Dems, who by the way, are #1, #2, and #3 in contributions received from FNMA/FMAC:
1. Chris Dodd
2. Barack Obama
3. John Kerry
John McCain actually foresaw this in '05, after Bush did years earlier, and pushed to correct it. The Dems refused, since they were on the take. The irony that the public is now punishing McCain and the Repubs in the polls is sickening. I wish people would take 2 seconds to educate themselves.

Wall of shame, feel free to add to it:
Barney Frank: “I think it is clear that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are sufficiently secure so they are in no great danger… Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac do very good work, and they are not endangering the fiscal health of this country.”
Maxine Waters: "Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and in particular at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines. Everything in the 1992 act has worked just fine. In fact, the GSEs have exceeded their housing goals."
Contrast that with McCain's statement from '06:
"I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole."
Of course, the potential blowback to McCain is that Obama camp will bring up Keating 5. McCain has an edge here, since that's over 20 years old while the current crisis is, well, current. However, it always comes down to which camp has ads that resonate better with public.
Wouldn't you just love to have Mitt as your candidate right about now? No previous scandals, and an economic powerhouse. Oh well.
The only upside to an Obama victory is that the economy could well be in the crapper for the better part of 2 years, which will be a huge stain on whoever the next president is.
That's the ad I posted here.
They've got to keep beating this drum.
