Don't say we didn't warn you...
when a Dem President raises your taxes. After all, they're already telling you that's what they intend to do:
No word yet on how many billions could be shaved off the price tag if we eliminate ambulance-chasing malpractice attorneys.
"Yes, we'll have to raise taxes. The only way you can pay for a health care plan that costs anywhere from $90 (billion) to $120 billion is there has to be a revenue source," the former North Carolina senator said.

If any Dem takes over they will at a minimum roll back Bush tax cuts to those of Clinton.
I also worry that if Repubs and Dems don't get serious about taking on AMT that it will effectively be a big tax increase for middle America within 10 years. But for now it seems neither group wants to forego the big revenue..
But at the end of the day, this is all just sand games. I'd like to see someone finally take an ax to our POS tax code, and simplify it to a flat tax or national sales tax. That would solve all the loophole problems, eliminate $2B IRS, and save everyone time.
Either one would be great, but I would greatly prefer the FairTax (Natl Sales Tax).
It is simple. It is fair. It is cheap to administer (relatively speaking). It encourages personal savings. It encourages capital investment. It generates revenue from freeloaders who cheat the system now. And it makes people aware every day of the cost of government (instead of the "silent bill" of salary witholding) and thereby fights the "free lunch" mentality.
