It's not quite an endorsement, but Jeb Bush is steering some of his top folks towards Mitt. Read about it here.

Saw this in another paper, good news. In WSJ article McCain just picked up Phil Gramm endorsement.

I was in Indiana over the weekend and did an informal poll of the in-laws (solid conservative Catholics). Two things are clear: they hate Hillary, and they don't know who they like from Republican party yet. However, they also think Rudy will drop, they can't see supporting a liberal NYer. I think this gives Mitt great room to capture the nomination, as he makes himself more visible. I did my best to talk him up.

I believe Mitt will be crucial to guide us through GWOT as well as looming entitlement payout mess. Also AMT, which I just saw they say with no changes to law, will hit 90% of married couples with 2 kids making $75-100 K in the next 3-4 years. We need intelligent fiscal balance, Mitt's experience gives him singular advantage on this issue.

Watching ABC's This Week this past Sunday, I was disappointed with Mitt for again failing to forcefully respond to those who are calling him an empty shell with no core convictions.

His word parsing is not going to wear on me well, particularly after seeing how strongly he dealt with the MA Supreme Court and the Big Dig cave-in. That's more of the Mitt I'd like to see.

Newsweek's latest article about Romney here:

More fluff, not really taking a position on anything one way or the other. But, always good to see how MSM is trying to frame each candidate.
