Obama and Affirmative Action
If Obama wins, what effect will it have on affirmative action?
Unfortunately I think it will further polarize people on the issue. Those for AA will use his election as proof that it works (whether or not it directly affected BHO). Those against it will say, "if a black man can be elected to the highest office in the nation, why do black people need this sort of help?" Furthermore, what will BHO as Prez with a Dem controlled Congress try to do in terms of new AA legislation? It upsets me to think about what they might be capable of.

If Obama wins and we get a supermajority of Dems in Senate you better be worried. Say goodbye to your income, national security, and any concept of individual responsibility.
The only hope we have now is that Obama's arrogance is causing him to misread the American people. His allegiance to Rev. Wright, his "cling to guns and religion" comment, and his Eurotrip all caused backlashes. I think it causes a double hit: it reduces enthusiasm for him, but more importantly it increases the number of likely voters for McCain. His victory tour-like parade through Europe in particular was absolutely in poor taste, up there with his use of a presidential seal-like emblem on his podium that time. He's gone too far in assuming he'll win, and it's hurting him.
Not for nothing, but I think McCain's campaign should get credit for the moves they've made this week. The two ad spots they released are exactly what he needs to secure anti-Obama sentiment, and their accusation that Obama is playing the race card is even more important. It was very clear even during the primaries that one of the Obama campaign's main strategies was going to be that any criticism of him or his policies was implicitly racist. Obama also tried to take discussion about almost any topic off the table. McCain needs to nip this in the bud, and start making the MSM feel guilty for not questioning Obama on his policies or experience, and make sure the MSM does not agree that anytime McCain questions Obama it is "racist".
