Philip Klein: Obama can best the straw man of his own making
See here. If Obama wants to retort to McCain's proposals on tax policy, energy policy, and foreign policy by saying "I'm black," he can be my guest. I'm not sure that's the most effective reply out there.

Every day on my way to work I see street vendors selling Obama stuff. Much of it is just about the fact that he's black. There's one t-shirt in particular with MLKs head next to Obama's with a caption that's something like "Realizing the Dream". The mere fact that he's black will get him a lot of votes. Look at the stats in the primaries. In some states he got 97% of the black vote.
