If there is a bright side, it's that the GOP primary hasn't happened yet and we can get a new face on the ticket for November. But another black eye for the party that can't be erased.

FWIW, I hope McCain tees-off on Stevens and a number of high profile Dems who have ethics issues right now, including Sen. Reid (land deals), Rep. Rangel, Gov. Blagovech (Rezko), Sens. Conrad and Dodd (friends of Angelo), and maybe even Sen. Obama (connections with Tony Rezko), and make the case that McCain's made a career of trying to reduce the influence of money on politicians.
