Veepstakes
Appears Pawlenty is out, since he won't be in Dayton today. On the other hand, both Palin and Romney supposedly are or will be, so it could be them. Also, secret service supposedly scoped out Romney's sister's house in MI yesterday, leading to speculation it could be him.

Drudge is now indicating it's not Romney or Pawlenty, likely Palin since she landed in Ohio last night. If so, good news for DC! Certainly would be a positive move to sweep up the undecided Hillary voters into the McCain camp. I haven't paid much attention to Palin, where does she fall economically, socially, and on national security?
Well, I read more about her and she would seem to be a perfect fit for McCain. Top issue is fighting pork-barrel spending, which is his issue. Her son is in the army, she's pro-life, and lifetime NRA member and hunter. In addition, she'll appeal to women voters and has some green creds for Indies. Also, since she's young she'd balance the age issue on the ticket, much like Obama picked Biden to balance his complete lack of any useful experience.
Hmmm, the plot thickens. Supposedly Palin is NOT in ohio, but rather still in Alaska. So if Pawlenty, Mitt, and Palin are all not in Ohio AND have indicated they are not planning on being in Ohio this afternoon, what's up? Another candidate (the Fredo dark horse Rudy?), or a last minute flight by one of Mitt / Pawlenty / Palin, or some other form of announcement?
CNBC now claiming it is Palin.
Makes sense, you reinforce the platform of cutting spending and battling corruption, while attracting female voters and also maintaining enthusiasm of the base.
