Repub National Poll

Good news for Mitt: this poll from Rasmussen shows him in a dead tie with McCain (27% apiece) for national favorite for Republican nomination. I believe this is the first time he's polled this high.

Yes indeed. And this is a 3-day rolling poll, so I'm guessing today he'll have 1st place to himself.

Notice the Mitt spike from two days ago? Scott Rasmussen reported that was the first tracking poll that contained no data from pre-Fred drop-out.

Rasmussen post-Crist endorsement now has McCain and Mitt tied up at 31% apiece in FL poll. Normally I'd say this is likely to break Mitt's way. However, this is telling: Fifty-two percent (52%) of Florida’s Republican Primary Voters say that it’s more important to select a President who can handle national security issues than one who can handle economic issues. Thirty-five percent (35%) take the opposite view. This suggests McCain might get the nod.

If it's so close that it comes down to GOTV and who procured early absentee ballots, Mitt's organization has proved itself in that regard. Could give him an edge.

And apparently mitt has a particularly solid GOTV effort on the ground in FL for some time..
